When Precision Matters, Experience Delivers

Not every machine shop can take on a job like this. We can.

When a customer's high-vacuum heat-treating furnace could no longer hold vacuum, the problem traced back to sealing fl**ge faces that were no longer flat. Without a true sealing surface, the furnace couldn't perform reliably—and downtime wasn't an option.

Intertek LLC accepted the challenge.

The job required:

Precision machining on an extremely large vessel
Complex, time-consuming setups
Working in hot, demanding conditions
Maintaining tight tolerances over a massive sealing surface
Completing the work on an aggressive schedule

Despite the complexity, our team remained focused from start to finish.

The result?
✅ Sealing fl**ge faces restored to specification
✅ Vacuum integrity recovered
✅ Project completed successfully and delivered on time

At Intertek LLC, we specialize in solving the jobs other shops avoid. Whether it's large-scale machining, field machining, pressure vessel repair, or custom fabrication, our experienced team has the equipment, knowledge, and determination to get it done right.

When failure isn't an option, trust the team that delivers precision under pressure.

WE ARE HIRING AGAIN!!

04/30/2026

Recently, Intertek LLC successfully completed a four-month repair project on the All-American Bridge in Akron. This iconic structure—locally known as the Y-Bridge—spans just over one mile in total length and rises approximately 130 feet above the Little Cuyahoga River and the surrounding Cascade Valley.

The scope of work focused on restoring critical structural components by boring the worn hanger pin bores to an oversized diameter. This precision process allowed for the installation of new pins and connecting links, ensuring proper alignment, load distribution, and long-term structural integrity. Given the elevation, tight tolerances, and access constraints, the project required careful planning, specialized equipment, and close coordination among all teams involved.

Working at significant heights and within an active infrastructure corridor presented both logistical and technical challenges. Despite these conditions, the project was completed safely and efficiently, meeting all required specifications and timelines.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to The Ruhlin Company and the Ohio Department of Transportation for their trust and collaboration throughout this project. Their partnership was instrumental in the successful completion of this work.

This project was both exciting and rewarding, and we are proud to have contributed to the continued safety and reliability of such a vital piece of infrastructure.
