Help support our sanitation project in Ecuador this GivingTuesday 🌎

All gifts will go directly toward our ongoing sanitation project in a rural community of about 150 people in the Amazon region of Ecuador. These funds will support the purchase of construction materials, transportation of supplies, and community training needed to build safe and dignified bathroom facilities, which help reduce disease and improve overall health. 🚽🚰

We believe in creating sustainable, inclusive engineering solutions that empower communities and uphold human dignity. Your GivingTuesday contribution will not only help bring reliable sanitation to families in need but also give Penn State students hands-on experience in using engineering to drive meaningful, lasting change around the world. Working hard at Shaver’s Creek last Sunday👷🪵

Our members volunteered to prepare an area for renovations by taking down trail signs, collecting large rocks near culverts, removing fences, and collecting river stones from a garden to be repurposed. But don’t worry, we had fun along the way 🤩

Introducing Engineers Who Bake ✨🍪

Last weekend our members had fun baking an assortment of delicious goods from sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and fudgy brownies! And if you missed out on our official bake sale you’re in luck because during tonight’s GBM we’re selling out our inventory over 50% off.

That means $1 gets you two baked good and for $5 you get as many as you want. That’s right, unlimited cookies & brownies.

After five incredible years, our active work in Namutamba, Uganda has come to a close! 🌍💧

We’re beyond grateful to our dedicated club members, community partners, and amazing advisors from EWB-PSU, EWB-USA, and everyone who supported us along the way. Together, we’ve successfully completed the first phase of implementation to bring clean water access to the people of Namutamba. 🙌🚰

➡️ Scroll through to see the journey: from our first assessment trip and hydrogeological surveys, to drilling and successfully implementing a clean water borehole, and our return in August 2022. We also completed the engineering work necessary to implement the transmission piping system from the borehole to a centralized tank in Namutamba.

Though our chapter’s active role has concluded, the project will continue in the capable hands of our community partners. 💙
