It’s a bit uneven, sure. But this old blade is still chugging along. Had a huge chip in one of the blades that just wasn’t salvageable.
So, whoever uses this blade can use it in a traditional fashion. A lot of double bit users back in the day would use one side for felling trees (kept extra thin and sharp), and the other side for brush removal and stump clearing (thicker and usually a bit duller).

I don’t get many fire axes, so when I do: I make it unique. This one’s getting a matching sheath soon. This one was heavily painted when I got it - got most of it out, but as far as I’m concerned, the rest of it can stay - it’s part of the history of the piece, really.
