A crazy summer with the Canadian wildfire smoke changing up the light patterns and causing some windy days, where we could not get out to fish. We ended the 2025 fishing season on the Willie Bee with some nice catches. The salmon run nearshore was spotty with the clear water, so we had a nice day and headed back out to deep water and found the fish. A little chilly start to the morning but the fish were in, and the salmon run is on. A 26lb king salmon, a nice brown trout and a few more after sitting out a day with the high winds. The winds, waves, and storms have gotten the best of us lately and the season will be ending soon. A few mid-week dates available, but it's not too early to reserve the prime-time dates for 2026. We did get some trips in, and Brian did sneak out and get a 19lb brown trout, the grandkids reported nice catches of bluegills, and Ted did get his catfish qualifier. Taz hauled in a nice rainbow and then a 7.25lb coho out on the lake this morning. A bit bumpy out there but she did a great job.
