CASE STUDY | With a fleet of Haas machines from small to large, from mills to lathes Quest 7 utilizes all of these to customize and manufacture knives for the corrugated boxing industry. With the utilization of their newest addition of their two Haas Super Mini Mills primarily for the smaller footprint that Super Mini Mills provide, they have moved from a single setup and one spindle to having two spindles moving at the same time and decreasing the lead time of their orders.

In this INSIDER Jason Johnson, the production manager for Quest 7 takes us through how they produce their knives for the corrugated boxing industry. Johnson walks us through how almost every machine touches their parts and with the small footprint of the Haas Super Mini Mill they have been able to increase the number of spindles on their shop floor to push out more parts and decrease their lead time. Jake Armstrong, the Director of Operations, walks us through the customization of the corrugated boxing industry and how they produce thousands of customizable parts to meet the customers' needs and service through the help of Haas

CASE STUDY | Husband and wife owned and operated fab shop, Fab Specialties, is hungry for growth as they learn to work smarter, not harder with CNC machine technology from Haas. Matt Schneider established Fab Specialties in 2019 with work he secured through his former Motocross sponsor Tippmanns Arms Company. As production began to boom, he quickly realized the need to invest in a CNC mill, and seeing the fleet of Haas CNC’s in operation at Tippmanns Arms Company, he decided to purchase a Haas TM-2P toolroom mill. Soon after a pair of Haas VF-2SS vertical machining centers, we added, bringing their stable of CNC’ up to three.

In this Haas INSIDER, Matt and Nickole share their inspiring story and discuss how the productivity and simplicity of the Haas CNC’s have helped them grow as a family-oriented business. Matt also discusses the variety of parts they machine, from firearm triggers to sewing machine clickers.

CASE STUDY | New England-based fi****ms manufacturer Charter Arms, recently invested in their first CNC mill and quickly realized the precision and productivity offered was a game changer. Within a few years, their stable of Haas CNCs grew to 4 (2 Mini Mills, 2 VF-2s), and as a result, they’ve been able to bring almost all their machining of critical parts in-house. Charter Arms has been in operation for over 60 years and specializes in revolvers of nearly every caliber you can think of.

In this Haas INSIDER, Plant Manager Chris Andrade and owner Nick Ecker share their extensive history in making fi****ms and how their fleet of Haas CNC mills has enabled them to bring work in-house and all but eliminate time consuming hand filing of fitted parts. Andrade also shares how employees with no background in running a CNC machine have been able to operate the machines with ease.
