Today we share the news that Bill Visintainer has retired from the Meritus Gas Partners Board of Directors and from Atlas Welding Supply. Bill's impact on our organization and on the broader welding and gases industry has been profound. Notably, Atlas was among the first two companies to place their trust in Meritus by agreeing to sell their business and, in Bill's case, by stepping forward to help guide our journey as a founding board member.
Throughout his career, Bill has been a tireless advocate for our industry. His decades of service to GAWDA — including roles on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors and serving as its President in 2016 — along with his tenure as a Foundation Board Member of the American Welding Society since 2017, reflect a deep and lasting commitment to elevating the profession. His leadership and involvement with GAWDA, his time at BOC, and his long-standing membership in Lincoln Electric's distributor advisory panel, helped elevate standards, strengthen partnerships, and advance the industry as a whole. Those contributions — paired with his practical insight, integrity, and steady counsel — have benefited Meritus and our partners in lasting ways.
