Everyone say hey to Clay! šŸ‘‹

Originally from Tulsa, Clay spends most of his time in Norman at the University of Oklahoma and he is joining the BKL team for the summer!

When he’s not studying, you’ll probably find him rock climbing, playing guitar, or convincing everyone that OU is the only university that matters. šŸ˜…

We’re excited to have Clay on board and can’t wait to see what he accomplishes this summer. If you see him around, be sure to give him a warm welcome!

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At BKL, we are reminded that the communities we help design, engineer, and support today were shaped by generations whose sacrifice helped protect and strengthen our nation.

For 80 years, BKL has worked alongside Oklahoma communities to help build infrastructure, public spaces, and facilities that serve people every day. Memorial Day is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the legacy of service, dedication, and sacrifice that made those communities possible.

Today, we remember and honor those who served.

Please join us in welcoming Kyle Marqardt to BKL as a Civil Engineering Summer 2026 Intern!

Kyle is from Jenks, Oklahoma and is currently studying at Oklahoma State University. Outside of engineering, he enjoys reading philosophy and thriller stories, hiking, and riding his bike.

We’re excited to have Kyle on the team this summer and look forward to the future he’s building in the engineering profession.

Welcome to BKL, Kyle!

Ready to respond.

Behind every well-maintained community is infrastructure designed to support the people doing essential work every day.

During National Public Works Week 2026, we’re recognizing the facilities, operations, and partnerships that help communities function safely and efficiently.

The Newcastle Public Works facility in Newcastle, Oklahoma reflects the importance of designing durable, functional spaces that support public service operations and long-term community needs.

For 80 years, BKL has worked alongside Oklahoma communities to help design infrastructure built for impact.

A day for Kyara šŸŽ“šŸ§”

Kyara officially graduated from Oklahoma State University with her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and we were so excited to celebrate this huge milestone with her!

Over the past year, she has been part of the BKL team as a part-time intern, helping our civil team whenever she had breaks from class. Between balancing school, work, and everything in between, she has absolutely earned this moment.

The best part? Kyara has accepted a full-time position with BKL, so we get to keep cheering her on as she starts this next chapter.

Help us give Kyara a big congratulations! Go Pokes! šŸ¤ šŸ‘

You probably don’t think about this…

But strong communities rely on public infrastructure every single day.

From utility systems to public facilities, public works supports the health, safety, and function of growing communities across Oklahoma — often without being noticed.

As we celebrate National Public Works Week 2026, we’re proud to highlight projects like the Newcastle Public Works Building in Newcastle, Oklahoma. Facilities like this help support the people and operations that keep communities running.

For 80 years, BKL has worked alongside Oklahoma communities to design infrastructure built for long-term impact.

🚧 Progress is taking shape in Coweta.

BKL is proud to be part of the future Coweta Fire Station project — a facility designed to support the firefighters and first responders who serve this growing community every day.

From site development to final construction, projects like this reflect our commitment to building infrastructure that strengthens Oklahoma communities for generations to come.

As we celebrate 80 years of impact across Oklahoma, we’re honored to help create spaces that support public safety, service, and community growth.

80 Years of Impact Across Oklahoma

We recently helped modernize the historic Spavinaw Pump Station šŸ’§ Getting to work on a 100-year-old piece of Tulsa’s water history is pretty incredible.

This building is part of the Spavinaw Water Project, the system that first brought clean water more than 50 miles to Tulsa taps in 1924. A century later, it is still serving the community.

80 years of BKL. The faces, technology, and equipment may change over the decades, but the purpose never does.

Meet Christian Neale, our summer Architecture Intern! šŸ‘‹

Christian is a Tulsa native, an Oklahoma State University student, and casually has enough hobbies for about five people: volleyball, soccer, drawing, painting, Spanish, horticulture, chess, piano, snowboarding, and wakeboarding. Main character energy, honestly.

He's down to help with anything and welcomes any opportunity chat, so yeah, he understood the BKL vibe immediately.

Welcome to the team, Christian!
