FYI I have retired from EPS Group and most Engineering projects....There are a few to complete or hand over that I will do that under NextGen Engineering.
So NextGen Engineering is on the taper....
I still like to talk about water💧
For California projects I am happy to refer people to Sonya Webb, PE at SanBell Consulting in Ventura, and drainage and Hydraulic modeling to Dean Wilkinson in Ojai.

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior Engineer at EPS Group, Inc.! I'll be wrapping up current NextGen contracts and projects under NextGen, but also helping EPS Group's Tucson office with Water Resources and Civil engineering. I am always happy to help solve water and engineering problems, but it has come time to finish running a small engineering firm :)

Current projects under contract with NextGen will stay there until completion. Any new contracts will be entered through EPS Group.

This video of Hwy 33 near Ojai after the recent winter storms is the ultimate test of Civil, Geotech and that strange and most challenging art of Geomorphology. Building in a wet year in Ventura CA....here is NextGen's biggest design for a culvert ever, a 10ft by 10ft that you could drive thru. Construction hat tip and thanks to contractor CA Rasmussen and owner Shea Homes. Today this box is all set, with grouted joints, and it will be carrying lots of water with the winter storms.

We understanding flooding technically, but the people side is more important....See the tragedy and comment in the news:

FLOODING IN CALIF
One of the people feared to have died in the storm this week is a 5-year-old boy, who was pulled from his mother’s arms and swept away by rising floodwaters in San Luis Obispo County when the two, who were on their way to the boy’s kindergarten, were forced to climb out of their vehicle.
Many residents have little experience dealing with floodwaters, or have forgotten about how to deal with them because drought has been so persistent — a gap in knowledge that can be fatal.
The officials have sought to inform the especially vulnerable. The state emergency services department met with hundreds of representatives from community groups throughout California in an attempt to deploy trusted messengers to people who are homeless, disabled, isolated or otherwise susceptible to danger. Helicopters flew over riverbed homeless encampments, broadcasting aerial warnings to seek shelter or move to higher ground. The authorities also kept dozens of roads closed yesterday.

Our award-winning Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam Prep Class prepares you for success on the FE Exam, which is an important step on the path to obtaining the Professional Engineer (PE) License. Taught by real-world practitioners, this course is geared to help working engineers who have been out of the classroom or those interested in engineering as a career.

The FE Exam Prep Class a 15-week practical course facilitated by NextGen Engineering in collaboration with the University of Arizona Continuing & Professional Education.

*This is a hybrid course with online lecture and small group meetings to work on project sets.
