Earlier this year, Dylan Lee and Myles Smith competed in the Pittsburgh Chapter NTMA Apprenticeship Competition. The competition consisted of a written exam and two machining challenges—one on a manual lathe and the other on a manual mill.

Last week, at the Pittsburgh Chapter NTMA Apprentice Graduation, Dylan Lee was recognized as the winner of the 2026 Apprenticeship Competition, competing against seven other apprentices from across the Pittsburgh region. In addition to earning the title of Best Metalworking Apprentice, Dylan was awarded a Gerstner & Sons Golden Oak Style Classic Chest.

We are incredibly proud of Dylan's hard work, dedication, and achievement. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

We would like to thank employee owners, Chase Cramer and Rick Serembo, for volunteering to help set-up the arenas for BotsIQ Competitions on March 4th at CCAC - Allegheny Campus, March 10th at Westmoreland County Community College, and April 8th at PennWest University CalU!

BotsIQ is a manufacturing workforce development program whose goal is to provide a pathway for high school students to learn about rewarding career options in manufacturing. This is accomplished by inviting students to participate in an exciting, hands-on robotics competition.

Hamill will continue to support this excellent program!

Last week we celebrated the retirement of employee owner, Cheryl Nestor, who has been a valued part of our team for over 43 years!

Cheryl was our Assistant Controller who was always seen as a trusted knowledge source in our Accounting Department. She was truly dedicated to Hamill and her role in processing our payroll. Her detailed nature and quick wit were a perfect pair to her role.
