💊 WHY DOES MY PRESCRIPTION NEED A PRIOR AUTHORIZATION?

Have you ever picked up a prescription and been told, “Your insurance requires a prior authorization”? You’re not alone—and it can be confusing!

A Prior Authorization (PA) is a requirement from your insurance company before they will agree to pay for certain medications. Your doctor may need to provide additional information showing that the medication is medically necessary.

A PA may be required when:
• Your insurance prefers a different medication first
• The medication is expensive or has coverage restrictions
• Your insurance requires specific medical information
• There are limits on the quantity or dose covered

🏥 What happens next?

Your pharmacy can contact your doctor’s office to let them know a PA is required. The doctor’s office then submits the necessary information to your insurance company. The insurance company reviews it and decides whether to approve or deny coverage.

⏰ Important: A prior authorization is an insurance requirement—not something the pharmacy chooses to put in place. Processing times can vary depending on the insurance company and doctor’s office.

We are looking for a well rounded individual who can multitask and be flexible in their role.

✅ Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Sending our deepest condolences to Rob’s family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that the Torrington Police Department announces the passing of retired Officer Robert “Robbie” Simon following a courageous battle with cancer.

Robbie joined the Torrington Police Department in September 2007 and faithfully served our community for 17 years before retiring in the fall of 2024. Throughout his career, he served in several important roles, including patrol officer, Community Policing Officer, Police Activities League Officer, and member of the Department’s Special Emergency Response Team.

Robbie was a valued and deeply respected member of our department. He was loved not only by his fellow officers, but also by the many members of the community whose lives he touched. His infectious laugh, warm smile, and unmistakable sense of humor will be greatly missed.

We extend our deepest condolences to Robbie’s family, friends, former colleagues, and all who knew and loved him during this incredibly difficult time.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized. Additional information will be shared when it becomes available.

Rest in peace, Robbie. Your service, friendship, and memory will never be forgotten.
