Over the course of ’26, this series will revisit the patents and engineering breakthroughs that shaped injection-molded and rotationally molded cases —innovations that elevated protection and redefined industry standards.
One of those early breakthroughs emerged from rotational molding innovations pioneered by Hardigg Industries (later acquired by Pelican). Foundational patents focused on reinforcing how cases were constructed, introducing embedded features for handles, hinges, and latches that dramatically improved strength and impact resistance.
