Employee ownership at Bartlett & West isn’t just something we say—it’s something we actively live. Through the Employee Ownership Council’s Employee-Owner Spotlight each quarter, our employee-owners highlight with each other what it means to “Think Like an Owner” across our company. During this event, employee-owners share their experiences and connect with others to discuss what makes Bartlett & West meaningful to them. By creating space for these stories and conversations, Employee-Owner Spotlight helps strengthen our culture of ownership—where every voice matters and every contribution moves us forward.

On May 18, three of our employee-owners attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Clay Rural Water System’s 3‑million‑gallon‑per‑day (MGD) lime softening filtration water treatment plant. The existing facility has reached the end of its service life and no longer meets current capacity demands.

The new plant will include modern process equipment and a two-story administrative building that houses administrative and operations staff, a laboratory, control rooms and meeting space—supporting efficient, long-term system operations. With a capacity of 3 MGD, the facility is designed to meet the system’s needs well into the future.

Bartlett & West provided full design services, including civil, architectural, structural, process, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and controls. Our team developed the design to approximately 30% before supporting the selection of a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), with Journey Construction selected. The remainder of the design was completed through a collaborative effort between Bartlett & West, Journey Construction and Clay Rural Water.

Bartlett & West was proud to support the City of Moberly, Missouri, with grant assistance and design for infrastructure improvements at the Moberly Area Industrial Park, alongside construction partner Emery Sapp & Sons. This roadway project extends Robertson Road to McKeown Parkway, enhancing access to the industrial park, supporting existing businesses and creating opportunities for future employers and economic growth.

We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the City of Moberly and collaborating agencies on this impactful project. Earlier this month, the team celebrated with a ribbon cutting.
