Bohl Companies has a long history of doing more than the customer expects. Founder Henry Bohl was a former teacher turned brass foundry manager who was fascinated by the emerging technology of mass-production foundries. Envisioning a promising future for material handling, he formed his own company and began selling simple monorails. 90 years later, Bohl has evolved into three divisions: Crane, Equipment, and Machine.

Henry Bohl, a former teacher turned brass foundry manager, was fascinated by the emerging technology of mass-production foundries. In 1924, he became authorized to sell simple monorails in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio and created the Cleveland Tramrail Toledo Company. His company quickly earned a reputation for its high-quality equipment and prompt, knowledgeable service. Their philosophy is to "Always do more than the customer expects" A philosophy that is as strong now as it was then.

We take pride in being one of the oldest family-owned forklift and crane dealerships in the United States. Our dedicated staff has worked hard for generations to maintain Henry’s outstanding reputation and we are proud to have customers from the earliest years who remain loyal today.

Bohl Crane, Inc.

While still offering the simple monorails Henry built his business on, Bohl Crane’s product line now includes specialized monorails, cranes, and engineered lifting devices that can move just about any product manually or automatically. These specialized systems lift capacity can range from a few pounds to more than 100 tons. As fewer and fewer suppliers offer molten metal-handling system, Bohl remains as an expert in these products with proving systems throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Bohl Equipment Co.

Bohl Equipment was founded in 1952 by Henry’s son Richard to handle forklift applications, offering customers a single source for most material handling needs. Bohl Equipment is a full line Hyster forklift dealer covering Northwest Ohio, Southeast Michigan, and Northeast Indiana. To date, Bohl Equipment is proud to have added the Yale product line to all Ohio and Indiana locations.
