You don't have to get ready if you stay ready. The workplace is evolving rapidly, but technology alone won't carry us into the future. The systems, strategies, and people behind an organization must evolve alongside the work itself. An organization can’t lead, develop, or support talent from the backseat.

Over the years, we’ve grown into new markets, expanded our footprint, embraced new technologies, and continued to imagine what’s next. While much has changed, some things remain. More than 40 years ago, founder Al Samborn established a partnership with United Way of Greater Toledo, intertwining our company with our community.

We’re proud to celebrate Justine Madonna’s induction into the Campaign Manager Hall of Fame and Vince DiPofi recipient of the Leadership in Action Award. We’re also honored to receive the Red Feather Award, recognizing our sustained commitment—reflections of a partnership decades in the making.

Building momentum. When we began our ESG journey in 2023, we set specific EcoVadis targets for 2025. EcoVadis is a globally recognized sustainability assessment that evaluates environmental, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement performance.
Two years later, we’re proud to report we’ve exceeded every goal, and achieved an overall score of 59/100, placing us in the 51st percentile worldwide—performing better than our industry average in every category.

SSOE Group welcomes Andrea Springer as Chief Technology Officer. Based in Denver, Andrea brings deep expertise in digital transformation and data strategy, with leadership in applied and emerging technologies, digital product strategy, and AI/ML across global matrixed organizations.

As a registered architect with a Master of Science in Digital Technologies, she uniquely combines technical innovation with design thinking. Andrea will lead our technology evolution, advancing how we apply data, automation, and AI to deliver meaningful value for our clients.

You don’t have to Master the game to Open doors. As golf major season continues, SSOE was proud to support the Architecture Foundation of Georgia’s golf outing—sponsoring the Design & Drives Topgolf Fundraiser in Atlanta, home to one of SSOE's architecture hubs. Proceeds support scholarships and grants that help architecture students tee up their futures and take the next step toward the profession.

Workforce education isn’t standing still, and neither should the spaces that support it.

SSOE’s Tim Swartz and Adriane McGillis are headed to the MiAPPA Summer Conference on Mackinac Island this June to explore exactly that.

Their session explores how institutions can design adaptable, future-ready learning environments as workforce demands shift with AI, automation, and Industry 5.0.

As we observe Memorial Day in our U.S. offices, we pause to reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of the service members who gave their lives in defense of our freedoms. We also honor the enduring sacrifices made by their families, as well as those of disabled service members and first responders.

In recognition of the communities we serve and the responsibility we share to support them, SSOE is donating $5,000 to Folds of Honor and will match employee contributions up to an additional $5,000. These funds will help provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen and disabled military service members and first responders.

We are also honored to be a recipient of the Folds of Honor Medal of Hope, an acknowledgment that reinforces our continued commitment to making a meaningful impact.

Two days at SSOE's world headquarters in Toledo with our partners at Autodesk, bringing together leaders from both teams around a shared focus: AI and project delivery across AEC.

AI doesn't start with algorithms; it starts with data. Our conversations centered on connected systems, asset lifecycle management, governance, and what it actually takes to be operationally ready to put AI to work at scale and move the needle for our clients.

Now in year 12 of our enterprise partnership with Autodesk, this relationship goes far beyond licensing. We maintain a feedback loop both teams actively invest in.

We’ve always made a point to explore what’s next with intention. These two days reinforced we’re aligned with the right partner to keep moving that needle forward.
