This isn’t something I would normally do because you know my stance on people, in general, but this is one of the hardest working and big hearted m effers I’ve ever met in my life. He’s been out of work for a few weeks and could really use a hand. I know only a couple of you know him, but I consider him family and your help would mean the world to me. Just for size reference, here’s the 120 gallon cook chamber for the next build next to a 5’5” Jayson. We weren’t sure how big it was actually going to be until the guy dropped it off. Should be a fun project with plenty of expletives!!!

Since I ended up keeping the last smoker, guess it’s time to start another one. 120gallon should do. Temps are attempting to drop just a little, so welding outside might almost be tolerable…in the mornings😂

Tested out the high heat ceramic paint on the stack and collector this evening. I’ve never had a rattle can lay down so smoothly. We’re getting so close. Only having an hour or two a day isn’t helping with progress, but we’re getting there!!!

I realized I haven’t posted much progress as of late, that’s because there hasn’t been any until today. I did make my own grates and line the inside with foil and foil pans and tried my luck with a cheap packer style brisket last weekend. It turned out really good. Forgot to get pics of it when it was all completely done though, so you’ll just have to take my word for it!!

Damper is tacked in place and seems to move rather easily. Left a little wiggle room for build up as well since it will definitely collect residue over time. This thing has been so much fun to build!!!

Collector and stack are complete, firebox is tacked and braced, now we have a better idea of what it will really look like once it’s complete. Weighing in at 550 lbs so far, and 7’ 1” in overall length, this thing is fairly beefy!!!

Not much progress last night. I got two of the sides for the collector cut, ground, and tacked in place. Having a job seems to be interfering quite a bit with this build😂. I’ll be running a little smoke through it from here on out to see how each piece affects the draw.
