Today isn’t just about a long weekend, cookouts, or time spent with family.
It’s about remembering the men and women who gave everything so we could enjoy those moments in the first place.
Freedom has never been free. It was purchased by sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, and friends who answered a call greater than themselves and never came home.
Today I find myself especially thankful, not just for the freedoms we often take for granted, but for the sacrifices that made them possible. There are families all across this country carrying an empty seat at the table because someone they loved chose service over self.
As I hold my daughter and dream about the future ahead of her, I’m reminded that generations before us paid an unimaginable price so our children could grow up with the opportunities and freedoms they have today.
To those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we remember you.
To the families left behind, we honor you.
To the heroes whose names may never be known by us but whose legacy lives in every freedom we enjoy, thank you.
May we never forget that Memorial Day is not about how they died, but about how they lived and what they were willing to give for others.❤️🤍💙
