We’re not just looking to fill a position. We’re looking to invest in the right person.
We’ve had quite a few questions about this position, so I wanted to give everyone a better understanding of what a typical day looks like, the experience we’re looking for, and most importantly, the opportunity this position offers.
So, what does the job actually involve?
A big part of this position involves assembling and preparing new equipment for delivery. That includes everything from zero-turn mowers to compact tractors and mini excavators.
No two machines are exactly alike, and the work can vary quite a bit.
Zero-Turn Mowers: Uncrating the machine, connecting the battery, fueling it up, and completing a thorough pre-delivery inspection. This includes checking fluids, inspecting overall quality, leveling the deck, and making sure everything meets manufacturer standards before it goes to the customer.
Mini Excavators: Installing thumbs, couplers, and buckets, activating telematics, and completing the full pre-delivery inspection.
Tractors: Depending on the model, you might be installing wheels and loaders, or you could be assembling axles, fenders, seats, and other components before completing the final inspection.
On top of new equipment assembly, this person will also handle a large portion of our lawn mower maintenance and repair work, ranging from routine preventative maintenance to diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
Here’s where the opportunity gets even better.
We’re not expecting someone to walk through the door with 15 years of dealership experience and the ability to rebuild anything with an engine.
We are looking for someone who has mechanical knowledge, some hands-on experience, a willingness to learn, and the drive to take pride in their work.
For the right person, this position can be a stepping stone into our main service department, where our technicians are splitting tractors, rebuilding engines and transmissions, performing hydraulic repairs, and tackling complex diagnostics.
If you’re someone who wants to keep learning, develop your skills, and build a long-term career in this industry, there’s room to grow here.
Now, let’s talk about pay.
We understand the reputation this industry sometimes has, especially when it comes to lawn equipment and compact tractor dealerships.
Too often, the expectation seems to be that someone should know how to do everything, work on anything, and bring years of experience to the table — all for $15 an hour and minimal benefits.
That’s not what we’re trying to do.
We’re not advertising an entry-level, minimum-pay position and expecting an experienced technician to show up.
We’re looking to invest in someone.
Someone with the right attitude. Someone who takes initiative. Someone who wants to learn, improve, and produce results. Someone who understands that doing a job right matters.
And when we find that person, we’re willing to compensate them accordingly.
You don’t have to know everything on day one. But you do need to show up ready to work, willing to learn, and motivated to become better at what you do.
At the end of the day, we can teach skills. We can’t teach someone to care.
If you’re mechanically inclined, enjoy working with equipment, and want to be part of a team that recognizes hard work and provides opportunities to advance, we’d love to have a conversation.
Reach out, send us a message, or stop in and talk with us.
We’re not just hiring for what you can do today. We’re interested in what you can become tomorrow.
We are still looking for the right fit for adding a setup technician/light shop technician to our team. Pay will be based on experience. This position will primarily setup new equipment and perform light repairs and maintenance.
This is a good job with a great team and great opportunity for advancement. If you have the skills we are looking for and are ready to be part of a growing team, please reach out and we can talk.
