Full Job Description
Procurement/Purchasing agent will negotiate with vendors for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment and services used by the company.
This position is full-time, salary exempt, with a Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. workweek. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price and delivery
• Establishes purchasing policies and ensures compliance to Supplier Quality Manual
• Develops new supply sources and selects best sources consistent with cost, quality, service and delivery requirements
• Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during that time period
• Establishes account/credit and terms
• Creates purchase orders and other documentation for the procurement of all standard and customized parts, supplies, equipment and services used by the company
• Works with suppliers to schedule product shipments
• Tracks and documents the status of product arrival and expedites deliveries as required to meet production schedules
• Works closely with receiving department to ensure proper receipt of material
• Monitors Min/Max levels on standard inventory items
• Resolves shipment and invoicing errors with suppliers and Accounts Payable
• Issues credits for product returns and ensures credits are received from suppliers, as needed
• Maintains purchasing information, files and records (e.g. Requests for proposal, purchase orders, vendor files, etc.) to ensure the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines
• Maintains supplier qualification and tracking form

• Strong negotiating skills; following the “Lowest Total Cost” model
• Knowledge of Quick books, Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
Qualifications:
• Associates degree, preferred, in Engineering / Business / Materials Management or Logistics
• Preferred purchasing experience
• Preferred direct buying experience; domestic and international
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Requirements:
• Sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform repetitious tasks e.g. typing and sitting in front of a computer
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug test
