Great catch here by NETA Level 2 Field Service Technician, Brandon Motes. USC Power Services was out at a client's site to troubleshoot faulty switchgear. This circuit breaker was tested after the fact to test for integrity. In this video, it is clear that there is burn tracking on the redboard, a visual indicator that it is failing the hipot testing.

Our recommendations were to repair the circuit breaker by replacing the faulty components and/or sending the breaker for rebuilding based on the customer's criticality requirements.

Leak detection on power transformers is critical for preventing unplanned outages, reducing environmental risk, and extending asset life. By identifying oil or gas leaks early, utilities can protect insulation integrity, improve reliability, and avoid costly emergency repairs. USC ROCKS!

Check it out - while working on a long-term solar acceptance testing project out in California, USC Technician James Arnold created some rock art along Highway 62. There are many other "USC" rock art formations that have been made in tribute to the University of Southern California along this highway, but this particular piece of art is all about USC Power Services!

USC is grateful to have technicians who are vested not only in providing excellent service to our clients, but who also look for creative ways to share the USC spirit with the world around them! Thanks, James, for this cool tribute to USC Power Services!
