The answer to Monday's question: FALSE! Transmission fluid does not get dirty because it doesn't utilize air. No spark, no fuel, no carbon and no air. So while the engine operates on internal combustion, the transmission does not.

The reason we suggest to change oil every 3,000 miles is to keep your engine clean! Our engine works off internal combustion which means we have a fire inside of our engine while it's running. No matter what kind of fire we need, such as lighting a candle, a space shuttle, or a campfire, there are always four natural elements necessary: air, fuel, spark, and carbon. The reason we change oil so often is because the air is dirty - the same reason we wash our cars.

If we don't change it - the dirt collects inside of our engine (called sludge). Sludge is nothing more than dirt mixed with oil and lowers the lifespan of the engine in its performance. This means your engine has to work harder, costing you more money in maintenance and gas, lowering efficiency and shortening the life span.
