Polyester Strap offers more than Steel Banding.
With continued price increases in steel strapping, now is the perfect time to make the change to polyester strapping. Polyester strapping offers many benefits over steel; it offers real cost savings per foot while creating a safer environment to those working with it.
In comparison to steel, polyester has smooth edges and weighs significantly less. At the very least, weights can be 50% less and in some instances 3 times less while working with strap with similar break strengths.
With continued advancement in the production of higher break strength polyester strapping, we can meet the demands of 75% of the uses for steel strapping. In applications where very high break strengths are required, we can provide polyester cord strapping with break strengths up to 5000lbs.
As the attributes of polyester strapping have progressed, the strapping tools have advanced to where Quick Pak Inc now offers many battery power tools pulling more than 2000 pounds of tension.
Benefits of Polyester Strapping over Steel banding:
-Cost savings.
-It’s safer to use. Polyester reduces lost time due to injuries and liability with steel strapping’s heavy weight & sharp edges.
-Polyester strapping is lighter.
-Polyester has longer length coils which save valuable labor requiring less change over time. In many instances, there is twice as much strapping on a polyester coil vs a steel coil.
-Polyester strapping is cleaner and non-corrosive, it will not rust or stain products.
-Polyester is non-abrasive and will not scratch products.
-Polyester strapping has high impact resistance making it less likely to burst.
-Polyester has “elastic memory” resulting in better-retained tension – holding loads tighter.
With the real advantages you will experience, your customers will like the fact that you have made the switch because, for them, polyester strapping is easier to discard while at the same time their employees are safer doing so.
Quick Pak Inc offers a wide variety of lightweight, battery operated friction weld tools (PAC, FROMM & Samuels). These tools are easy to operate while reducing labor time with the bonus of eliminating the purchase of those expensive steel buckles. Automatic Stretch Wrapping with Airflow Stretch Film
Optimal ventilation for your products has been a challenge for years. Rather than solving the problem, costly workaround solutions have become the norm. Your business is likely paying for expensive corrugated packaging solutions, extra adhesives, unnecessary secondary/tertiary venting and load containment materials or needless equipment.
Lower your overall packaging costs and speed up time-to-market with Airflow, the ultra-strong, breathable vented stretch film that allows heat, moisture and off-gas release while containing your products with a superior holding force.
Stretch wrapping with Airflow film is increasingly used in high-temperature packaging applications where airflow, rapid cooling, and load stability are critical. In industries such as food, chemicals, and plastics, hot-filled products like buckets or pails require secure unitization without trapping heat or moisture. Phoenix automatic stretch wrapping solutions, including rotary ring technology, are designed to meet these demands while supporting consistent, high-throughput operations.
Why Use Airflow Film for Hot Products?
Airflow stretch film is a specialized stretch film material engineered with an open structure. Unlike conventional stretch film, Airflow allows heat to dissipate and air to circulate around the load. This makes it well suited for wrapping hot products immediately after filling or processing, reducing the need for cooling buffers in the production line.
When buckets containing hot products are wrapped using Airflow film, the load remains stable while excess heat escapes naturally. This approach supports product integrity, minimizes condensation risk, and helps maintain downstream handling efficiency.

Plastic Resin Prices.
As of late March 2026, plastic resin prices are experiencing a sharp upward surge due to significant supply chain disruptions and rising energy costs. Commodity resins such as Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) have seen contract prices jump by as much as $0.10 to $0.11 per pound in March alone, with even larger increases announced for April.
Commodity Resin Market Trends (March 2026)
Market analysts attribute the current volatility to geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East, specifically the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which has choked off global supplies of oil and gas.
Polyethylene (PE): Contract prices increased by $0.10/lb in March. Major producers like Dow Inc. have already announced a further $0.30/lb hike effective April 1, 2026, while LyondellBasell is seeking a total increase of $0.35/lb through May.
If you have any questions about product availability, pricing, or your current orders, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Quick Pak Inc account manager. We appreciate your continued partnership.
Always good to look at packaging material stock and think 45-60 days out and have that quantity of material on hand or on order.

Automate End of Line Packaging
End‑of‑line automation by Quick Pak Inc connects case forming, packing, sealing, labeling, stretch‑wrapping, and palletizing into a coordinated system. By integrating new and existing equipment with the right controls and material handling, your packaging lines run more consistently, with fewer manual touches and less unplanned downtime.
What can be automated:
Case erecting and forming: Automated case erectors and formers turn flat blanks into square, repeatable cases ready for packing. This reduces manual box building, improves packer ergonomics, and sets a better foundation for downstream sealing and palletizing.
Case packing and sealing integration: Cases move seamlessly through manual or automated packing stations into sealers, with conveyors and controls tuned so product and cases arrive in the right orientation and sequence. The result is fewer bottlenecks and less rework at the end of the line.
Labeling, printing, and verification:Print‑and‑apply, inkjet, or labeling systems are integrated into the line, with options for code verification and basic inspection. This reduces manual labeling effort and helps ensure barcodes and date codes are applied and checked consistently.
Stretch‑wrapping and pallet handling: Automatic or semi‑automatic stretch wrappers and pallet handling equipment are tied into the line, so pallets move smoothly from build to wrap to staging. Controls and safety are aligned across the end‑of‑line area for clearer operator workflows.
Conveyors and controls between steps:Conveyors, transfers, accumulation, and controls logic connect all end‑of‑line elements—from case erectors through palletizing—so the system behaves as one line instead of a set of isolated machines.
End‑of‑line projects begin with a detailed review of your current equipment, layouts, and operating goals. We looks for ways to reuse reliable assets, fill gaps with new equipment.

Rebuilding End-of-Line Packaging Equipment
When Replacing Packaging Equipment Makes More Sense:
There are situations where replacement is the more practical path. If the equipment no longer meets production demands or safety standards, or if parts availability has become an ongoing issue, replacement may offer long-term advantages.
Replacement is often the better option when:
-The machine can no longer support the required throughput.
-Parts are obsolete or unavailable.
-Safety or compliance standards cannot be met.
-Ongoing repairs are frequent and unpredictable.
While upfront costs are important, they shouldn’t be the only consideration. Downtime, lead times, training, and installation all impact the true cost of replacement.
Rebuilding often:
-Reduces downtime compared to sourcing new equipment.
-Preserves existing line layouts.
-Eliminates retraining requirements.
-Delivers faster return on investment.
For many operations, rebuilding often delivers a faster return on investment by restoring performance without major capital expenditure. For companies focused on maintaining uptime and controlling costs, rebuilding can be the most efficient path forward.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. The right decision depends on your equipment, your production demands, and your business priorities. What matters most is choosing the option that protects uptime, controls costs, and supports reliable performance – today and in the years ahead.
Contact Quick Pak Inc today ay 813 242 6995 or [email protected] for an evaluation of your packaging operation and guidance on achieving minimal impact with the best possible ROI.

Easy Automated Packaging Systems
Beginner or entry-level packaging automation can often give you quick wins with minimal disruption and a budget-friendly price.
These options are ideal if you’re just starting your automation journey as they’re affordable, simple to install and don’t require major layout changes.
Typical entry-level automated packaging systems:
Gummed paper tape machines – these improve box sealing speed and reduce tape waste.
Friction welders – these are battery operated, handheld machines that seal plastic strapping and banding together. A simple, straightforward tool for securing heavy boxes where tape won’t work or securing pallets.
Semi-automatic pallet wrappers – if you’re wrapping 15 or more pallets a day, you could benefit from a turntable pallet wrapping machine. They’re efficient and help you use less stretch film, while making sure loads are effectively contained.
Individual void fill machines – there are “plug and play” void fill machines available for free with low monthly usage. They can produce paper or air cushioning on demand, speeding up how easily you can protect your products.
Mid-Level Packaging Automation Options:
If you’ve already implemented some entry level equipment and need a further boost, or have gone through a phase of growth, mid-level packaging machinery might be for you.
Case erectors – these machines will consistently erect cardboard cartons. Mid-level machines usually work with one size case at a time, so suit a production line working with a controlled amount of SKU sizes
Case sealers – these machines use glue or tape to seal boxes. The basic models work with one size carton or case at a time.
Integrated void fill systems – integrated void fill systems can feed multiple pack areas at the same time, dispensing protective material into big bins ready for use, automatically replenishing them when running low.
Strapping machines – a step up from friction welders, these can help you strap entire pallets or boxes automatically.
Orbital wrappers or robot wrappers – for packing larger volumes of long items, loads you can’t rotate or floor-based wrapping.
High-Level Automation Solutions:
High-level automation is designed for high-volume, high-speed environments where efficiency is critical. Time is often money and during peak demand automation can pay dividends by offsetting the need for temporary labor.
Typical high-level packaging machinery:
Right-size carton systems and void reduction – these machines make boxes around your product, so it’s the right size every time. This reduces waste and optimizes cubage for transport.
Automatic random case sealers – these work like standard case sealers, using glue or tape, but will adapt to different size boxes, allowing you the flexibility to seal cartons for multiple SKUs.
In-line void-fill systems – these systems automatically dispense protective material like air pillows or paper cushions into a box, only dispensing what is needed for the pack. They remove the element of overpacking while maintaining in-box product protection.
Auto bagging systems – both horizontal and bagging systems can be used to improve efficiency. Horizontal bagging systems are often used in-line, whereas vertical baggers require some manual intervention.
Conveyors and labelling systems – these systems enable you to move product through your warehouse and then label them for dispatch. Ideal if you’re working in a large space.
A step-by-step approach works best. Many companies start with entry-level packaging automation, then scale to mid or high-level systems as demand increases. Our team can help you decide the best course of action call us at 813 242 6995 or [email protected]

03/18/2026

Choose the Right Stretch Film
Selecting between cast and blown stretch film isn’t just about cost, it’s about finding the right balance between load type, environment, and budget. Here are the main considerations:
Match Film to Your Load Type: Lightweight, uniform loads (like consumer goods, packaged food, or retail shipments) Cast film is usually sufficient. It’s clear, cost-effective, and works seamlessly with high-speed machine wrappers.
Heavy, irregular, or sharp-edged loads (like bricks, lumber, construction materials, or machinery parts) Blown film offers superior puncture resistance and load retention, ensuring goods don’t shift in transit.
Consider Your Application Environment: Indoor, controlled environments, cast film performs well where temperature and handling are consistent.
Cold storage, outdoor shipping, or rough handling, blown film maintains strength and durability even in tough conditions.
Factor in Equipment and Budget: Automated pallet wrappers, cast film is easier to apply, runs quietly, and delivers consistent stretch ratios.
Manual or semi-automatic applications, blown film may require more effort to apply but offers unbeatable holding strength.
Sometimes, the best solution is not “cast vs blown” but a combination. Some facilities use cast film for standard loads and blown film for high-risk shipments.
If clarity, cost-effectiveness, and ease of application matter most, cast stretch film is the way to go.
If your shipments demand durability, puncture resistance, and high load retention, blown stretch film will deliver superior performance.
‍At Quick Pak Inc we help you match the right film to the right job. Call us at 813 242 6995 or [email protected] for more help and information.

What Is Stretch Hooding?
Stretch hooding is a packaging method commonly used to secure and protect palletized goods. It involves using a stretchable plastic film, known as stretch hood film, which is applied over a load of goods on a pallet.

The stretch hood is typically made of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and is designed to fit snugly over all 5 sides of the pallet load (leaving no open top side), providing stability and protection during handling and transportation.

Stretch hood film is a popular choice across many different industries because it provides strong, resilient packaging that adapts to different load shapes and sizes, enhancing protection and stability throughout the supply chain.

Why Use Stretch Hood Film? There are several advantages of using stretch hood film for your packaging needs, including:

Improved Load Stability: The tension in the film holds the goods firmly in place, reducing the risk of damage during transit.

Highly Durable: Due to its ability to stretch, this type of film is incredibly durable, making it resistant to tears and punctures even on odd-shaped products.
Enhanced Protection: The polythene film acts as a barrier against environmental factors like dust, dirt, and moisture.

Versatility: It can accommodate various load sizes and shapes, making it a flexible option for different types of products.

Environmental Benefits: Stretch hood films are often recyclable, contributing to more sustainable packaging practices.

Cost Efficiency: Stretch hooding can be more cost-effective than other packaging methods like shrink wrapping, often using up to 50% less material!

Stretch Hood Film Vs Stretch Wrap Film: When comparing stretch hood film to stretch wrap film, several key distinctions emerge in their applications and benefits.

Stretch hood film is applied as a single, continuous piece over a pallet load, whereas stretch wrap film is wrapped around the load in multiple layers, either manually or with a machine.

While stretch hood film excels in providing enhanced stability and a cleaner appearance, stretch wrap film offers flexibility and adjustability.

At Quick Pak Inc, we provide stretch hood film to benefit your packaging needs, securing goods through all stages of the supply chain. Get in touch with us today at 813 242 6995 or [email protected] to discuss your stretch hood packaging requirements.
