Storms delayed our Engineering Week celebration this year. A month late but absolutely worth it.
This year’s theme … MAZES!
Individual Challenge: Ping Pong Ball Maze
Goal: Take the longest amount of time to get to the bottom.
Team Challenge: Marble Maze, built together, but without talking.
Goal: Get the marble to the bottom the fastest using ALL the designated pieces.

Ali won the Ping Pong Ball Maze with a speed of 7.26 seconds.
Team Celeste won the Marble Maze with a speed of 2.87 seconds.
Christina won the People’s Choice Award
Chris won the spirit award. Nice wig!

All in all, a respectable showing…. We finished the afternoon with BBQ and root beer floats. We work in a great office with great people.

About Us

History

For 20 years, Auerbach Engineering Corporation (AEC) has been a leading consulting firm providing Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, and Environmental Planning services to clients throughout the northern Sierra Nevada region. In 1998, Walter R. Auerbach, PE, started AEC with just two other colleagues. After experiencing rapid initial growth, Walter purchased Hale-Tippin, a leading engineering and surveying firm that worked on prominent projects in Tahoe City and North Lake Tahoe. The company quickly expanded and was contracted for the surveying and engineering of the development at Northstar, the Village at Squaw Valley, the Lakeside Trail, the Commons Beach Development, and more. We attribute our success to the effective congruence of our Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, and Environmental Planning departments. AEC also puts high value in hiring the right individuals who love the Tahoe region and are dedicated to serving the community. Our ability to provide expert care to each project is a result of learning that growth needs to be deliberate, which enables us to balance our public and private work effectively. Our size and value placed on communication allow us to maintain close relationships between our clients, project managers, and professional staff members.

What We're About

One part of our mission is to sustain and cultivate our relationships with the local community. We strive to maintain a significant presence locally, doing projects that are visible and important to the area. We love the people that we work with and the many individuals we have come to know through our business. The leaders at AEC are also leaders in the region. We are involved in numerous community leadership roles in the North Lake Tahoe area including the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation Board of Directors, the Board of the Tahoe City Recreation Association, and the Tahoe Basin Design Review. Our President, Project Managers, and Planner have over 100 years of combined experience in engineering and planning. With AEC, you are getting more than technical expertise - you are getting real people who care about the Lake Tahoe region and its many communities.
