From snowbrains.com: The most powerful California storm since December will roll through late this week and weekend, dropping 20-50″ along the Sierra Crest in Northern California by Sunday. The deepest resorts will likely be Sugar Bowl, Palisades Tahoe, Kirkwood, and Bear Valley.

Wed-Fri: Palisades Tahoe – 18-22” 😃
Fri-Sat: Palisades Tahoe – 34-41” 😱

Rest Assured We’re Coming!! But in the meantime, it’s best to avoid any unnecessary travel.

As of this morning, the following road closures have been issued by the CHP:

I-80 CLOSED from Applegate to the Nevada Stateline.
SR-89 CLOSED from Tahoe City to Squaw Valley Rd. due to an avalanche.
SR-267 CLOSED from Northstar to Kings Bings Beach.
SR-89 CLOSED from Truckee to Sierraville.
SR-89 CLOSED from Bliss State Park to Eagle Point Campground
US 50 CLOSED from Placerville to Myers.

We received approximately 193.7” of snow as of this morning breaking our 1970 record 🙀 UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab.

The roads are a mess, but our guys are working hard to get to you. We thank you for your patience in this matter. Please stay safe, and stay warm!

Also, please note, the resorts are also closed. 🚫⛷🏂

Today was “Take your wife to work day.” I told her if she behaved herself she could drive the plow. It is now my pleasure to introduce you to our newest plow driver, Anika. If you need me, I’ll be at the enjoying a pint 😜🍻

PSA - for the love of all that is holy, do not aim for the lights!! 🚧🚜Thanks, my dude Chase Barber, for the reminders for the general public about how to drive near snow plows - short answer, very carefully!

With this new storm system, make sure to move your cars and other items out of your driveways, give yourself extra time if you need to go anywhere, and drive with caution around the plow drivers. Please don’t rush, we appreciate it!
