Today we’re celebrating the talented women at AHBL who are making an impact in civil and structural engineering. Their work helps shape the communities we live in through designing infrastructure, solving complex challenges, and bringing thoughtful, practical solutions to every project.

From site development to structural design, their impact can be seen in projects throughout our region. They’re not only advancing our work but also encouraging more women to explore and grow in engineering.

We’re proud to have them on our team and appreciate everything they contribute every day.

Summer is officially here, and as temperatures rise, it’s important to stay mindful of heat safety, for yourself and those around you. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to serious conditions like heat exhaustion and heat stroke, both of which require immediate attention.

To stay safe, wear lightweight, protective clothing, drink plenty of water throughout the day, and take regular breaks in shaded or air-conditioned spaces whenever possible. Keeping cool and hydrated can make all the difference in preventing heat-related illness.

With summer around the corner, it’s the perfect time to get outside and explore all Tacoma has to offer. Just a few miles from our headquarters, Brewery Blocks has become a vibrant community hub, bringing together local dining, drinks, shopping, and open space to gather.

AHBL’s civil engineering, landscape architecture, and land surveying teams collaborated to bring this vision to life, delivering frontage improvements, enhanced accessibility, and safer pedestrian connections. We also partnered closely with the City of Tacoma to help shape Phase I of this dynamic destination.
