Before Building Safety Month comes to a close, we’re highlighting this week’s theme: “Communities Without Limits” – a reminder that accessibility is essential to thoughtful, inclusive design (International Code Council )

At AHBL, accessible design isn’t an add-on; it’s a core part of how we approach every project. With roughly half of our work serving public agencies across Washington, we bring deep familiarity with ADA standards and the responsibilities that come with publicly funded spaces. Our team understands how to evaluate site conditions, identify where ADA requirements apply, and integrate those standards seamlessly into the design process.

Beyond compliance, we’re committed to creating environments that truly welcome everyone because great communities don’t just meet standards, they remove barriers.

We’re starting off this week with a few career milestones. Please join us in celebrating Emily Weimer, Sydney Wattenburger, and Matt McFall for five years of excellence with AHBL.

Emily is a land use planner based in our Tri-Cities office. Her experience in comprehensive planning makes her a key asset to the team, and we appreciate her commitment to our clients.

Sydney, also based in the Tri-Cities, is a survey technician who helps keep projects balanced and ensures our survey crews are set up for success. We’re grateful to have her on board.

Matt is a landscape architect based in our Seattle office who has worked on a wide range of projects during his time at AHBL. He recently passed the Landscape Architect Registration Examination and became a licensed landscape architect in March—an exciting milestone!

Congratulations to each of you! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next.
