Our collaboration with InventWood is a masterclass in redefining what’s possible in the construction landscape. InventWood’s proprietary "Superwood" (MettleWood) is a game-changing, sustainable material. However, scaling production for such a dense, high-value product required a total reimagining of material handling.

Off-the-shelf equipment simply wasn’t an option. 🛠️ The Solution: Precision at Scale

The Globe Machine Robotics & Automation team engineered and integrated a custom, multi-robot workcell specifically designed for InventWood’s complex chemical delignification and densification workflow.

This world-first system includes heavy-payload FANUC M-900iB/400 and M-410iC robots equipped with:
▶ Advanced Vision Guidance: FANUC $iRVision^\circledR$ 3DV sensors mounted on the robots accurately detect highly variable boards, wire mesh, and metal plates within mixed stacks.

▶ Custom End-of-Arm-Tooling (EOAT): A dual-servo fork tool and custom vacuum systems allow flexible, gentle handling of diverse part geometries without needing a single moment of manual retooling.📈

The pulp and paper industry is at a pivotal point, adapting to new demands for eco-friendly packaging and specialty grades. At Globe Machine, we’ve spent over a century engineering the systems that facilitate this transformation.

At TAPPICon, we are discussing our full-mill integration strategy, which now includes our latest innovation: Pulp Bale De-Wiring integrated with FANUC America Corporation robotics.

This system isn't a standalone fix; it’s designed to work seamlessly with our broader range of mill equipment:
➡️ Pulp Mill Efficiency: Automated de-stacking, wire coiling, and stray wire detection.
➡️ Paper Mill Precision: Shaft pullers with heavy-duty scissor lifts, core elevators, and unique roll turners that minimize slabbing.
