The KS Gorgone Pad is a non-woven abrasive sheet or pad engineered for precise, low-aggression surface treatment on wood. It's constructed from synthetic filaments woven into a flexible web, impregnated with fine abrasive grains. This filament structure allows it to lightly abrade and "structure" wood fibers—meaning it opens up the grain, removes fine fuzz, scuffs surfaces for better finish adhesion, or creates a subtle texture without deep gouging. Unlike traditional sandpaper, these pads resist loading (build-up of dust/sawdust) and conform to irregular wood surfaces.
Light Structuring Wood Fibers: Primary application—gently abrades to align or raise fibers for better finish pe*******on. For example, after planing or coarse sanding, it removes micro-imperfections, creating a "structured" surface that holds stains or oils more evenly.
Other Applications: Scuffing paint/primer prep, blending scratches, polishing between coats of varnish/lacquer, or general cleaning without damaging the base wood. Safe for contoured edges, carvings, or furniture details where flat sandpaper can't reach.
