The California Resources Corporation (CRC) and Carbon TerraVault (CTV) just got the green light for the state’s first-ever carbon capture and storage (CCS) project at the Elk Hills gas plant in Kern County. This project is set to store up to 38 million tons of CO2—equivalent to taking 300,000+ cars off the road each year! 🚗💨
At AED, we see CCS as a critical step forward in cutting emissions while supporting industries like oil & gas, energy, and manufacturing. Pairing CCS with other innovations—like energy optimization and electrification—can help drive a more sustainable future while also creating more job opportunities for Americans in emerging green industries and revitalizing local economies.
