Over the past 18 years, TWM has helped design over 12 miles of the MetroBikeLink Trail, creating key connections between neighborhoods, transit systems, schools, parks, and Scott Air Force Base.

Since then, we’ve also designed over 15 miles of connecting trails to the MetroBikeLink, both for St. Clair County Transit District and for surrounding municipalities including Swansea, Fairview Heights, and Belleville.

From major bridges and retaining walls to challenging rail alignments and creek crossings, the MetroBikeLink Trail project was about more than trails—it was about connecting people.

Please join us in celebrating a well-deserved milestone! We’re thrilled to announce the promotion of Josh Stein, PE to Illinois Transportation Engineering Leader! This recognition is a true reflection of the dedication, talent, and heart Josh brings to our team every single day.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the Transportation group here at TWM, Josh has built a reputation for technical excellence, leadership, and a commitment to delivering successful projects. Throughout his career, he has contributed to a diverse range of transportation improvements, including roadway resurfacing, reconstruction and widening projects, intersection enhancements, new alignments, and bike trail developments.

In addition to managing projects and mentoring staff, Josh is a trusted resource whose knowledge and expertise are valued across the firm. In his new role, he will continue supporting the Swansea, IL Transportation team while expanding his efforts to coordinate, guide, and collaborate with Transportation staff across the state.

Summer has arrived, and so have our interns! 🌞 This week, we hosted our annual Camp TWM Intern Luncheon at our Swansea, IL headquarters. 🏕️ It was a day packed with team challenges, great food, and even better company. Shoutout to our amazing staff who came out to welcome our interns, share a meal, and make the day truly special! We can't wait to see what this group accomplishes. Pierce Terrace isn’t just a school. It’s a living lesson in how design can shape the future. TWM helped deliver this 77,000 sq. ft. campus for 325 students, set within a 37-acre site and designed around DoDEA 21st Century Learning principles. This project went beyond classrooms and made the entire campus part of the learning experience.

TWM is proud to announce Adam Bilzing, a senior at Belleville West High School, as the recipient of the inaugural Jim Barganier Memorial Scholarship. Established in honor of our late colleague and friend, Jim Barganier, PLS, the scholarship supports students pursuing STEM-related degrees and reflects Jim’s passion for mentorship.

Director of Geospatial Services, Josh Hoffmann, was honored to present the scholarship and recognize Adam’s hard work and achievements alongside Jim’s family at the school’s awards ceremony.
