And this is EXACTLY why we recommend our clients let us start completely over when doing a major wiring project. Sometimes what’s there isn’t worth saving. We started to remove the old battery cables on this truck to install 1/0 cable to support a higher output alternator. Upon inspection we found a splice and the cable slid right out of the crimp with a slight wiggle… Mind you, this cable stretched from the front at the starter, all the way to the rear mounted batteries with no fuse in sight. Good thing we ordered some new cables from our good friend Tony and his amazing team at CE Auto Electric Supply !!! Used the custom cable builder on their site to design cables to our specs for the truck. Two days later, we get a well packaged box of goodies for this build! These hydraulic crimps will ensure this truck has clean power delivery for a few lifetimes.
