ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CNC Machinist is directly responsible for the fabrication and machining of various customer products, introduction of new machined components, and support of existing CNC equipment. This position will report to the Shop Supervisor.
• Thru minimal direction from Supervisor, create program, complete set-up to
accomplish quality operations in support of machining for self and others.
• Read & interpret blueprints, understand basics of design.
• Create and/or edit CNC programs on the fly from provided drawings and execute.
• Use manufacturing paperwork (routers, blueprints, sketches, etc.)
• Perform non-CNC task when necessary: non-CNC equipment operation,
handwork operations, inspections, saw-cut operations, etc.
• Communicate with other on work status and completion of work.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to read, evaluate stock and tooling requirements from engineering
drawing.
• Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Firm understanding of CNC programs to include format and editing.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have strong written and verbal skills.
• Must be capable of moving between various machine languages (HAAS, MORI-
SEIKI, FANUC, & OKUMA.)
Individual must be a self-starter capable of working in a short and/or long run, tight tolerance production environment. Must be able to recommend tooling improvements. Individual must be able to proficiently measure and work to close tolerances. Must have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Able to discuss technical problems encountered with the supervisor and management. Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills. While preforming the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
