Mazak Quick Turns/Slant Turns
A mix of production and job shop work

Experience running CNC lathes (Mazak experience is a plus)
Ability to set up and run jobs
Dependable, motivated, and takes pride in their work

Today we’re celebrating a true legend in the Charles Machine family: 👏👏

Dan Thompson, who has been with us for 34 years and will hit 35 this coming March. 🥳🥳

Dan is one of our machinists who keeps our drill presses and slotters humming. While the world races toward touchscreens and tablets, Dan stands firm like a mountain 🏔. No fancy tech for him. He’d rather run the older machines by hand, listening to the rhythm of real gears, real metal, and real work.

When he isn’t here, you can usually find him on his farm🐮🐮 with his wife and two boys, fixing something, building something, or steering a tractor🚜 with the same calm focus he brings to the shop. And if you ever want to see joy in its purest form, offer him a big juicy burger🍔. He has never met one he didn’t like.

Dan, thank you for your years of loyalty, skill, grit, and good humor. Our shop is better because you’re in it. Here’s to 35 years and counting.🎊🎉

🎉 Employee Appreciation Spotlight: Skip Best 🎉

Today we’re celebrating a true legend around here — Skip Best, who’s been part of our team for an incredible 23 years! 🙌

Skip is the master of the shipping floor — loading, unloading, and prepping orders like a pro. If it involves a forklift, you can bet Skip’s behind the wheel (and probably bragging about how fast he can back it up). 🚜

When he’s not keeping shipments running smoothly, you might find him enjoying his two favorite food groups: Hormel Chili and Sloppy Joes. (We’re not saying that’s the secret to 23 years of success... but it might be. 😆)

Skip also likes to “try” his hand at growing corn — though let’s just say the results haven’t quite made it to the dinner table yet. 🌽😂

Thank you, Skip, for your hard work, dedication, and sense of humor all these years. You keep things moving (literally) and make work a lot more fun for everyone around you!

Here’s to many more years — and maybe someday, a successful corn harvest! 🌽💪

We’re proud to recognize Rich for reaching an incredible milestone — 25 years with the Charles Machine Family!

Rich is a highly skilled lathe operator, expertly running CNC lathes. His precision, consistency, and deep knowledge of his craft have made him an essential part of our operations and a go-to resource for his teammates.

Outside of work, Rich enjoys kicking back with a cold Yuengling, spending time with his two kids, and (mostly) keeping to himself. (Pretty sure he said this was his good side 🤣)

Larry has been part of the crew for an incredible 25 years (yes, TWENTY-FIVE!) and has taken on some of our biggest projects like a true pro. His welding and fabrication skills are second to none. 🔥💪

When he’s not laying down flawless welds, Larry is all about fishing 🎣, woodworking 🪚, hanging out with his wife and kids ❤️, and keeping Mountain Dew in business 🥤😂.

Today, we’re honored to shine a spotlight on someone who truly represents the heart of our team — Rod Shoemaker. For the past 26 years, Rod has brought skill, dedication, and pride to his work as a welder, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have him as part of our family.

Rod’s outstanding performance, steady work ethic, and willingness to go above and beyond have made a lasting difference — not just in the quality of what we do, but in the lives of those who work alongside him. He’s not just a great welder — he’s a great teammate, mentor, and friend.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Kurt Miller 🌟

Kurt’s journey with us began all the way back in 1997, when he joined the team as a senior in high school. Though he started with no experience as a machinist, his hard work and determination helped him grow into the role of Machining Foreman, where he now oversees every aspect of our machine shop.

When he’s not leading with skill and dedication, you’ll find Kurt at home with his wife and their chocolate lab, Nestle. He’s also a big fan of dirt track racing and loves exploring the outdoors with his wife whenever he gets the chance.

We’re proud to spotlight Kurt not only for his years of commitment, but also for the passion and consistency he brings to work every single day. Thank you, Kurt Miller, for being such an important part of our team! 🙌
