Feature Friday!
This week, Cardinal Manufacturing is proud to recognize Bo Windjue! This is Bo's second year in Cardinal Manufacturing, and he is a great example of the qualities we value in our employees. He is hardworking, dedicated, and always willing to lend a hand to get the job done.
Bo often leads tours when we welcome guests into our shop, and his polite manners and professionalism help him represent our program well. He is also a strong leader who takes pride in making sure our work is completed correctly and efficiently.
As our Production Manager, Bo communicates with customers to schedule jobs, manages workflow, orders the materials and tools needed for projects, and helps ensure deadlines are met. When extra help is needed on larger projects, Bo is always willing to step in. Whether it was helping with a large rack project this year or putting in extra hours during the summer, he consistently shows his commitment to getting the job done.
We are grateful to have Bo as part of our team and appreciate the leadership, hard work, and dedication he brings to Cardinal Manufacturing!

Yesterday during Cardinal Manufacturing, we held our annual Fall Workshop! We welcomed Whitehall, Butler Tech in Ohio, ISD 129 – Montevideo High School in Minnesota, MRS Machining, and LAB Midwest to learn more about our program and what makes our student-run business unique.

During the workshop, our guests sat in on our meeting, toured the shop, and learned directly from our students about our day-to-day operations. We shared how our business is organized, the different roles students take on, and the experiences that have helped us grow as a program. We also discussed how to start a student-run manufacturing program and the steps we take to improve our business each day.

We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with other schools and organizations, share our experiences, and learn from one another. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year's Fall Workshop! We enjoyed having you here at Cardinal Manufacturing!

This Tuesday, a few of our Cardinal Manufacturing students took a trip during the school day to get some work done outside of the shop!
We started the day with a visit to North American Specialty Laminations, where we looked at an area where we will be building a peg rack to hold their laminating rings. After that, we made a pit stop at Kwik Trip, one of our main supporters, to grab coffee for ourselves and doughnuts for the rest of the class!
Next, we headed to Strum Hardware to pick up wheels for our flip-flop chicken grill, along with some washers. While we were there, we also got to meet one of the store's furry friends!
After a busy morning of stops, we made our way back to the shop to finish out the day. We appreciate the support of our local businesses and the opportunities they provide for our students to learn and gain real-world experience!

Feature Friday! This week, we're proud to recognize Collin Ellifson, our shop's lead welder! Collin has been part of Cardinal Manufacturing for two years and consistently shows dedication, reliability, and attention to detail in everything he does. He takes pride in his work, treats others with respect, and is a great leader in the shop. When Collin takes on a project, he makes sure it gets done right.
Collin regularly shows up early and is always willing to put in extra effort when needed. This past summer, he came in to help finish a rack for a local Business, PAC Basic. He has also been working on welding grills and completing a floor grate using plasma cutting, welding, and grinding. His willingness to go the extra mile and see projects through to completion makes him a valuable part of our team.
We appreciate Collin's strong work ethic, respectful attitude, and commitment to producing quality work. Thank you, Collin, for setting a great example of what is means to be a Cardinal Manufacturing employee!

Today, we welcomed two fourth-grade visitors to Cardinal Manufacturing! They had the opportunity to tour our shop, see our day-to-day operations, and learn more about what our students do in class. We always enjoy sharing our program with younger students and hope to welcome more visitors throughout the school year. We look forward to working with them in the future!

Members of the Wisconsin Retired Educators Association from Trempealeau County recently visited Cardinal Manufacturing to learn more about our program and see what our students are accomplishing. We appreciated the opportunity to show them how our student-run business combines hands-on manufacturing experience with real-world business skills. Thank you for taking the time to visit and learn more about what we do at Cardinal Manufacturing!

Yesterday, we welcomed Blake Cegielski, a former Cardinal Manufacturing student, into our Construction class! Blake shared insights about his realtor business and the process of purchasing a house. He talked about the life skills and experience he has gained since graduating from high school. We appreciate him taking the time to return and share his experience with our students, helping them connect what they are learning in the classroom to real-world opportunities!

Yesterday, we welcomed Jim Lechleitner from Tyton Partners to Cardinal Manufacturing! Jim had the opportunity to meet our students, learn more about our student-run business, and hear how each team member contributes to our success. He also shared valuable advice and insights from his experience working with businesses and educational programs.

Tyton Partners specializes in strategy consulting and investment banking, working with organizations across the education, knowledge, and talent sectors. Mr. Cegielski first connected with Jim at IMTS, where Jim became interested in learning more about our program and the work our students do.

We appreciate Jim taking the time to visit our shop, learn about Cardinal Manufacturing, and share his knowledge with our team!
