Firefighter staffing is about more than numbers on a budget. It’s about having enough hands and equipment on scene when someone needs help.

As Brockton Fire Chief Nardelli stated, “It's all about staffing and manning. We need as many bodies on the fireground as possible.”

Whether it’s Brockton or Stoughton, the challenges firefighters face are the same. Fires don’t differentiate by town lines or city budgets, and having enough personnel on scene is critical to protecting lives and keeping firefighters and civilians safe.

The PFFM Foundation is asking our members, locals, and supporters to come together for the family of Jack McCarthy of Randolph Local 1268.

Jack recently suffered a rare type of stroke and is now facing a long road to recovery. As he focuses on healing, his family is also facing the financial challenges that come with an extended recovery and time away from work.

Jack has spent more than 20 years serving his community as a firefighter and Lieutenant with the Randolph Fire Department. Now, it’s our turn to support one of our own.

Please consider donating and sharing the fundraiser to help Jack and his family during this difficult time.

Over the past several weeks, our firefighters have been conducting hands-on training in ventilation, roof operations, chimney fires, and ladder operations.

A special thank you to Jon Spiegel of M&D Core, Inc. for generously allowing us to use his property for this training.
