New Intern Alert!!

The NPDC welcomes Sophia Matthys as an engineer intern. Sophia is originally from Oklahoma City, OK. She is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at OSU with an expected graduation date of December 2026. “I hope to gain hands-on experience applying my engineering skills to real-world challenges and projects,” Sophia said. Outside of the classroom and NPDC, Sophia enjoys baking, sewing, history and reading.

The NPDC welcomes Jonas Harris as a Research, Development, and Communications intern. Jonas is from Piedmont, OK and is majoring in Finance and Business Management with an expected graduation date in the Spring of 2027. “Here at NPDC, I want to develop relationships and further my understanding of product research, development, and general business skills.” he said. “I look forward to experience being in the frontline of developing impactful products for clients and contributing to meaningful initiatives while continuing to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. My hobbies include playing tennis, reading, and being involved in my local church!”

Congratulations to our electrical engineering interns Isaiah and Nathan on graduating from OSU this spring.

Isaiah will be working at Ditch Witch.

Nathan will be earning a Ph.D. in AMO Physics at OSU.

Jodi and Cynthia spent Wednesday and Thursday in OKC attending the Oklahoma Innovation Expo. The expo was supported by OCAST.

On Wednesday, Kay, the NPDC manufacturing liaison met up with them to attend the conference where they networked with Oklahoma’s innovation industry leaders.

On Thursday, Jodi and Cynthia exhibited at the Oklahoma State Capitol. They spoke with legislators about NPDC’s impact on Oklahoma inventors and manufacturers. The NPDC is sponsored by OCAST.

The NPDC team attended the 2026 CEAT Faculty, Staff and Student Awards Banquet yesterday.

Please help us congratulate our Interim Director, Jodi Prouty, for being awarded the Outstanding Performance Award for Extension Units.

This recognition reflects remarkable leadership, tremendous collaboration among students, manufacturers and Oklahoma inventors and meaningful impact across our organization and the state of Oklahoma.

Yesterday, Jodi and Cynthia attended the 2026 Research Symposium where they watched OSU graduate and undergraduate students present their research.

They also gained insight about AI in the food industry from Renee Hale, a chemical engineer at PepsiCo.
