Fuel pickups, through hulls, screened tank suctions, fuel fills, 316SS for days. Once you are done you need to remove all of the color and it is such a shame. That color will rust as it is a damaged chromium layer at the surface of the stainless steel. Passivation is removing of that color and damaged layer. Once the color is removed we restore the chromium using special chemicals that make the stainless steel corrosion resistant. Sometimes it is necessary to coat the stainless with a ceramic and this will add another layer of protection as any iron that resides on the surface can start a corrosion pocket that builds over time. Every time you apply something like "on and off" you strip away the oxidation but the pocket remains and will rust again.

We try to think ahead and do the best we can so that things look good for a very long time.

These mounts hold a stainless steel raw water line feeding the engine with sea water. Mounted to the wesmac's stringer, these allow for quick removal and access to the engine for maintenance.

Beautiful bow cable stays. Often overlooked as a simple strap to connect a cable to on the bow. These ultimately transfer all of the boom load from your mast and boom to the hull. A failure of a bow cable can completely unrig the complete vessel. The best course of action is to aim the eyelet at the direction of pull (masthead) and be cut to a size that transfers the force to a number of fasteners with backing plates to be spread over a suitable surface area. Too small and they will tear out, wrong angle and they act like a pry bar trying to shear all your bolts off. Want less sag when you order cables? Make sure the foundation is solid.
