Mike's Welding Mike's Welding is locally owned and operated out of Sterling, Alaska. We do any kind of custom aluminum or steel fabrication that you can think of.

Mike started the business by making ATV trailers and snowmachine sleds. He started making Kenai River dip-nets and the business started to boom. The name got out and he started making boats, floating docks, and pretty much anything else that you can think of.

Attention all Alaskan dip netters! For the rest of July, we will only be open Monday-Saturday 8-5. In the past we have also been open on Sunday to take care of dip net sales, but over the last few years, Sunday seems to be a really slow day. So we will be CLOSED on SUNDAYS. On Fridays for the rest of the month we will be open until 7 pm to stay a little later for the people coming down from up north. Thanks everyone!

For the first time ever, mikes welding had updated its dip net design! Same awesome oval hoop material that creates less drag, noise, and vibration in the water, making it harder for fish to sense and escape. We improved the triangle handle attachment point which will make our hoops stronger and less likely to break from a welding weak point. Weigh inflations and material price increase we have only increased our prices by $10!! We also still have a few leftover hoops of our old style which we are selling at last years price! Come check them out! We’ll have plenty in stock all season!!

Floating dock season is almost here! Not many people realize that we make floating docks. We carry titan plastic decking and eagle plastic floats, those along with our aluminum framing means maintenance free for life! We only have a limited supply through the season so make sure you get ahold of us in the off-season to get on our summer list!
