If the oven settings are right… the part should be right.
But in reality, that’s rarely the case.
Material heating is one of the most critical, and least visible, parts of the process.
You can have:
- The same set points
- The same cycle time
- The same material
…and still get completely different results.
Why?
Because what matters isn’t just temperature, it’s how the heat is distributed across the sheet.
That’s where thermal imaging changes the game.
Instead of guessing, you can actually see:
- Hot and cold spots across the material before forming
- Uneven heating that leads to thinning, webbing, or weak areas
- Cycle-to-cycle variation that operators are constantly chasing
- Heater performance issues that aren’t obvious until parts fail
And once you can see it…
You can control it.
