Job Summary:
Unloads incoming product from vendors and trailers from warehouse. Puts away materials in appropriate locations, verifies what is received to the invoice or bill of lading. Hands off paperwork to receiving clerk once checked. Gathers material transfer requests for OB shipments. Executed directives provided for organizing all materials in warehouse. Confirms material movements are in process and assists in locating materials.
Knowledge:
Forklift knowledge and safety procedures, excellent knowledge of all raw material component, location of all materials in main warehouse and offsite warehouse and quantities per location. Needs to know how to read, fill out, and process all receiving paperwork and transfers. Understands how to reads tape measure 1/32".
Skill:
Forklift operating skills to load/unload, lift, move, place, stack raw materials and doors, navigates throughout plant, including populated and small areas, performs safety procedures, read/interpret schedules/tickets, use measuring tape - to 16th.
Responsibility:
High level of responsibility, first and final check of all inbound material (quantities and quality), works with little to no supervision, makes decisions independently, responsible for the layout and clean operation of the warehouse.
Utilizes a radio to communicate with Managers, Supervisors, Team Leads and co-workers on a regular basis.
Manually lift/slide/flip materials or boxes of material (max. 50-75 lbs.), bending, lifting, twisting, agility - constant moving on/off lift.
Operates forklifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials.
Documents and maintains inventory and ensures production area is organization and clean.
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years of related experience. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to operate a forklift safely without destruction of property or injury to self or others. Works under immediate supervision. Reports to Supply Chain Manager. CDL preferred but not required.
Physical Demands:
Constantly getting on/off lift truck to manually lift/slide/flip materials or doors (max. 50 lbs.), bending, lifting, twisting - Picking up materials and disposing as necessary.
Social Demands:
Constant and clear communication with upstream and downstream departments required.
Working Conditions:
Works at the plant and the offsite warehouse with no heat or cooling. Mildly controlled environment - can expect cold and heat during extreme weather conditions. Moderate core dust.
