Today, Snow Pro Truck Equipment is closed in observance of Labor Day. We will reopen during our regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8.
Labor Day is much more than the final holiday weekend of summer. It is a day dedicated to honoring the hardworking men and women whose dedication, skill, strength, and sacrifice helped build America.
The first Labor Day celebration took place in New York City on September 5, 1882. Thousands of workers gathered for a parade organized by the Central Labor Union to recognize the contributions American workers were making to the strength and prosperity of the country.
In 1887, Oregon became the first state to officially recognize Labor Day as a public holiday. Other states soon followed. On June 28, 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed legislation establishing Labor Day as a federal holiday celebrated on the first Monday of September.
More than a century later, Labor Day continues to honor the people who build our roads, manufacture our equipment, maintain our communities, operate our trucks, serve our customers, support our businesses, and keep America moving forward.
