On this 7.4-ton P&H Hevi-Lift hoist at a cement facility, a scheduled wire rope replacement uncovered severe corrosion in the frame. With no way to bring in a mobile crane, the frame was repaired in place, the panel was upgraded to stainless NEMA 4X, and the hoist got a certified 100% load test.

Is an under running crane right for your building? Here’s the quick rundown.

Under running cranes ride on the bottom fl**ge of the runway, which can keep floor space open and works well where headroom is tight. They suit light to mid-range loads, while top running cranes handle the heaviest, and they can interlock with other cranes or monorails for complex layouts.

Two 30-ton cranes. One semi-automated system. These top running double girder bridge cranes are joined for tandem operation offering a total capacity of 60 tons.

Each crane spans 55 feet with 24 feet of hook height and feature powered trolley hoists with XLTX radio controls. The semi-automated system offers HMI control and laser positioning to drive the bridge and trolley to pre-programmed locations — beacon and horn alert personnel during every automated move.

Problem: A lumber company needed to load full bundles of wood — some up to 45 feet long — onto flatbed trailers, then drape and secure a tarp over the load. A standard crane hook wasn't going to cut it for a load that long and that awkward.

Solution: Our fabrication team engineered a Custom 4-Point Dual Lifting Beam Assembly — 23-ton capacity, running 50 feet in length, turning a single crane hook into a multi-point lifting tool built specifically for this job.

Sometimes the floor tells you what you can't do — so our engineers figure out what you can.

This 5-ton top running single girder bridge crane needed to go over a plastic injection molding machine, but the floor space around the machine had strict layout constraints that ruled out a standard column footing install. Our in-house engineers designed a custom oversized column and base plate solution that let us mount all four runway columns directly to the floor — no footings required.

The result: full crane coverage over the mold machine, clean floor access maintained, and nothing compromised.
