This fungal disease, known to overwinter on corn residue in the northern U.S., poses a significant threat to corn crops, and proactive measures are crucial for effective management. We also know that tar spot thrives in cool, wet, and humid conditions and can lead to substantial yield loss under favorable conditions for the fungus."
