OWN is on the ground - and in the air - at the Cherokee County Superfund Site in southeast Kansas.
Since 2015, OWN has partnered with Environmental Quality Management, Inc. to support remediation efforts at the Cherokee County Superfund Site. As part of that work, OWN's Survey Team Leader, Trevor Byrd, has been conducting regular drone surveys near Baxter Springs using LiDAR technology to monitor nearly 800 acres for environmental compliance.
Trevor’s work independently verifies the volumes of contaminated soil moved throughout each phase of the cleanup - detailed, highly technical work supporting one of the region’s most significant long-term remediation efforts.
The site is part of the Tri-State Mining District, where cleanup efforts have been ongoing since 1983.
