Over 55 years ago, Food Processing Equipment Company (FPEC) promised uncompromising SERVICE and RELIABILITY -- the reason for the successful and continual company growth. This second generation, family-owned business has dedicated itself to keeping its promise to engineer and produce reliable, custom-designed machinery for the meat and food industries. CHRONOLOGY
In 1959, company founders, John H
. Davison and Armond Villian, opened the doors and hung the sign of FPEC in a 20' x 20' metal shed located in the rear of a busy lumberyard in Bellflower, California. Proudly producing their first piece of food manufacturing equipment -- the heralded Pickle Injector. Business soon outgrew the humble beginnings of the small metal shed and in the fall of the founding year, FPEC moved to Vernon, California in a 1,500 sq. building in the lot behind a meat plant. In 1963, the first dedicated 3,000 sq. manufacturing facility was established in Maywood, CA. Producing such equipment as conveyors, tables, tanks and breading machines. It was here that engineering plans were created for one of FPEC's most popular machines, the Incline Ground Meat Conveyor and Beef Fabrication Equipment. Again, growth constituted another facility move in 1967 to a 3,200 sq. plant conveniently located just down the street. The following year, FPEC saw the acquisition of the building next door, providing an additional 3,200 sq. In 1977, FPEC manufactured its first Blender, and entered in the manufacturing market of larger, more sophisticated equipment and systems. This facilitated yet another move to Santa Fe Springs with 6,000 sq. Santa Fe Springs, California remains the headquarters of their west coast residence, as in 1984, FPEC moved to its current facility with just over 18,000 sq. and room to grow yet again. In 1985, FPEC had the opportunity to enter the poultry industry in a substantial way when providing Tyson Foods with its first Vacuum Tumbler. The company's focus began shifting to the growing poultry market. In 1986, FPEC formed a relationship with MP Equipment in Grayson, GA, further strengthening the established poultry market expertise.
1990 witnessed the manufacturing and distribution facility expansion to the central U.S., with the opening of their new 12,000 sq. headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas. With two U.S. offices, opportunity was afforded to customers worldwide. The Springdale facility continued its growth, and expansion was eminent. In 1993, a substantial capital investment brought forth an additional 24,000 sq. ft., manufacturing equipment to all markets and adding capabilities such as increased volume and set-up of complete systems in house. The 90's have been years of strong growth and prominence in the manufacturing of equipment to the poultry industry. With this growth, came opportunities abroad (Chile, Australia, South America and Indonesia), as well as broadening new business market opportunities in the area of beef, port, seasoning, bakery and other areas. FPEC has moved forward successfully into 2000, with its excellent product line and continuing strong market position.
