After 27 years of dedicated service, we celebrate Joey and thank him for the tremendous impact he has had on Pioneer and the people who have had the privilege of working alongside him.
Joey joined Pioneer as our Controller and through his hard work, commitment, and leadership, advanced to Vice President of Operations. Over the years, he wore countless hats, always stepping up wherever he was needed. Following Pioneer’s acquisition by IWS and later by 4Front, he continued to lead the organization as General Manager, helping guide the company through times of significant change with steady leadership and clear focus on moving the business forward.
Joey was the kind of leader who handled challenges head-on. He made decisions quickly, expected accountability, and always put the business first. He was fair, honest, and earned the respect of everyone around him. While he was a strong leader, those who knew him best also knew him as someone who genuinely cared about the people he worked with. He mentored many of us, offered guidance when it was needed, and built relationships that extended far beyond the workplace.
For many employees, Joey wasn’t just a manager – he was a mentor, a trusted leader, and a friend. His influence can be seen in the people he helped develop and, in the culture, he helped build over nearly three decades.
Joey’s legacy at Pioneer will not be measured only by his accomplishments, but by the lasting impact he has had on the people and the company he helped shape. He will be greatly missed, and we sincerely thank him for his 27 years of dedication, leadership, and friendship.
Congratulations on your retirement, Joey. We wish you and Ruth many years of happiness, good health, and the opportunity to enjoy this next chapter together. You have certainly earned it.
