St. John Baptist Church Worship Center Expansion Update

We’re excited to share a few new photos from the Worship Center Expansion project!

The building is officially dried in, the stone and EIFS exterior are going up, and the inside is transforming fast. Framing is complete, MEPF rough-ins are nearly wrapped up, and drywall is already starting to go up.

Every week brings something new, and it's been great watching this project come to life!

Webb County Veterans Building Rehabilitation Update

Exciting progress continues at the Webb County Veterans Building as restoration efforts reveal and preserve important pieces of the building’s history.

In one of the original sections of the building, crews uncovered historic walls dating back to the 1840s, constructed from a mix of stone and brick and measuring an impressive 20–22 inches thick. Work in this area has included the careful removal of damaged plaster, roofing, and decking. While the existing roof joists will remain, additional structural support will be added where needed to reinforce damaged members. Once complete, this space will feature a beautiful wood tongue-and-groove ceiling, restored plaster walls, and wood flooring, blending historic character with renewed durability.

In Room 111, restoration efforts began with the removal of existing wood flooring and damaged plaster. As work progresses, portions of the walls will receive additional structural support before being replastered. This room will also be finished with a wood tongue-and-groove ceiling, plaster walls, and wood floors, maintaining the building’s historic aesthetic while ensuring its longevity for future generations.

Preserving the legacy of this historic landmark is an important part of honoring the community and the veterans it serves.

Webb County Justice Center Progress Update

Exciting progress continues at the Webb County Justice Center. The attached photos highlight the ongoing replacement of the existing copper roofing at the cornice areas. This improvement includes the installation of new finished coping, designed to provide enhanced long-term durability while contributing to a cleaner, more refined appearance.

These upgrades are part of our continued commitment to preserving the facility's integrity, improving performance, and maintaining the quality of this important public building. Stay tuned for more project updates as work progresses.
