Proud to share the progress of one of the most challenging PEMB projects we’ve delivered to date — a 252' x 60' Workshop & Warehouse complex in Guam.
As the design and manufacturing partner for this project, CSS Steel Buildings was responsible for the engineering and fabrication of the complete PEMB system.
One of the biggest challenges was designing for a 195 mph wind speed requirement — the highest design wind speed we have encountered to date. In collaboration with a leading structural engineering firm from Utah, we optimized the steel system to achieve stronger lateral performance and overall structural integrity while still maintaining efficient fabrication, practical constructability, and controlled steel tonnage.
To address Guam’s harsh marine environment, we also worked closely with the steel coil manufacturer to develop a customized cladding solution using S550GD + AZ150 PVDF material for both roof and wall panels, helping improve long-term corrosion resistance and finish durability. This solution was further complemented by our PBR Panel system, backed by a 15-year finish warranty.

The project is progressing steadily on site. With the primary steel, secondary steel, and purlins now completed, we sincerely appreciate the trust and support from the client, along with the dedication and hard work of every engineer, supplier, and manufacturing partner involved throughout the project.
We look forward to the successful completion of this facility and the continued development ahead.
