The City’s Capital Investment Excess Levy provides dedicated funding for equipment and accessories used in police vehicles. The funding from the levy is used to outfit vehicles with necessary tools and technology, replace worn or outdated components, and maintain operational readiness. This supports the City’s ongoing efforts to ensure effective law enforcement services and public safety.

PLEASE NOTE: This is separate from the Vital Services Levy (Harrison County's Levy) and the Public Bus Transportation Levy (CENTRA's Levy).

We were saddened to hear about Sheriff Marano's passing. He was an amazing Deputy, Sheriff, leader, and an even better friend. He was the best of the best. We wish his family and friends peace and comfort in this difficult time.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Office is mourning the death of one of our own. Sheriff Marano, a 30 year veteran in Law Enforcement, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday. Albert started his Law Enforcement career at Nutter Fort PD and then eventually was hired by our office. Marano, started on patrol and was Chief Deputy for 8 years under former Sheriff Jim Jack. Albert retired from the Sheriff's Office and ran for Sheriff of Harrison County where he completed two terms. We are sending out Prayers to his family and friends. Rest easy Sheriff, we will take it from here.

We are pleased to announce that the Town of Nutter Fort has selected Robert A. Titchenal as the town’s new Chief of Police following a competitive selection process.

Chief Titchenal was chosen after a review of multiple applicants and a series of interviews conducted as part of the hiring process.

Chief Titchenal brings strong leadership, experience and a commitment to public service. We believe he will do an outstanding job leading the department and continuing to serve the residents of Nutter Fort with professionalism and dedication.

As police chief, Titchenal will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Nutter Fort Police Department and will work with elected officials to maintain public safety and strengthen relationships within the community.

Titchenal is expected to assume his duties in the coming weeks. A formal swearing-in ceremony is expected to be scheduled in the near future.

Please join us in welcoming Chief Titchenal to this important role. We look forward to working together to continue strengthening Nutter Fort.

Congratulations, Chief Titchenal, and welcome to Nutter Fort! 👮‍♂️
