Welding a little bit of Inconel this week. This is an exhaust stack off of a PT 6 turbine. This one is off of a King Air 200. Pretty interesting little repair I’ve been doing more of the last year or so. They’re a bit challenging, as they are super thin, been through a ton of heat cycles, and sometimes the crack will run on you. Manufacturer guidance allows for repair given the crack is no longer than 5”, and they provide a welding procedure for the repair.

Custom heavy duty 3/4” plate with a pintle hitch we recently built. We actually repaired one for this customer, and they decided to start sending their new trucks to us to replace the factory upfitters hitch they come equipped with. These are braced with two large 3/4” gussets and welded out with multiple passes of FCAW.

I haven’t posted here in a while, we’ve just been so busy, I have some pictures of several projects we’ve completed recently. Heres a pretty significant repair job on an excavator bucket we just completed. It came in wore pretty deep on the sides and was cracked where the side lugs bolt on. I cut both sides off, replaced them with new 3/4” AR400, replaced 3 wear plates on the bottom, and welded it all back out with multiple passes of FCAW. When I say multiple passes I mean basically an entire 44 # spool of wire. It turned out pretty good and she’s ready to get back to work!!

This was a warranty repair for a trailer manufacturer in NC. Their was in issue with with the brackets used to chain the tailgate for spreading gravel. We patched the tube and installed 2 new cnc cut chain keepers. We do this for a few manufacturers, we cover this area so the customer doesn’t have to ferry the trailer 3-4 hrs away for repairs. Custom set of CNC cut 150 series Pipeline Skillets. (10) each 2” - 14” with the sizes air engraved on them. Every time we cut these people always think they’re steel targets, which they are similar, and I can’t say that I haven’t used one as a target. They’re designed to go in between two pipe flanges to isolate a section of piping or a tank. These are used often in tank farms to perform maintenance such as welding on tanks and piping, they are also used for process changes to prohibit commingling of different products.

Pretty cool little umbrella mount we built for a customers boat. We machined a rod to fit tightly into a seat mount, and bored the tube to fit the umbrella tightly. This was a pretty significant repair, we always take these very serious. I always reach out to the manufacturer and request a repair procedure first. We spend quite a bit of time inspecting every critical weld behind the damage looking for cracks or stress to determine where we will cut the frame, this one was pretty straightforward, all the damage was up front. Once cut the frame was replaced with new W10X19, we plated the webbing both sides of each joint with CNC cut 1/2” plate, added a new cross member and gusseted to that also. We also fabricated a new hitch out of 3/4” plate. We had 20 man hours in this repair.

If you find yourself in a similar situation please consider us to repair the assets that support your livelihood. We are not the cheapest, and unfortunately not the fastest but I will guarantee it will be done right, it will look good, and you can feel safe pulling your equipment up and down the highway.

This was a pretty good one. We had a customer call Monday, they needed to change the nose wheel on their jet, a Phenom 100. That requires a special fixture to jack the nose up and still allow access to the wheel. The only one available had an 11 week lead time and these guys were in a situation where they couldn’t fly until they changed that tire. They needed a solution quick. I met them at their hangar Monday evening and got all the dimensions I needed, fabricated it that night, test fit it the next morning and they changed the tire today. I’m pretty proud of this one, and it was a fun little project.

Had a tilt deck trailer come in purpose built for hauling a scissor lift, they upgraded the tire size and ran into fitment issues with the fenders. To the point of having to cut the fenders off, road side. We scratch built two new fenders and also upgraded the hitch to a channel bracket style, which we recommend to everyone.
