The conversation around in‑building wireless is shifting as expectations for reliability, safety, and coverage continue to rise.

MCA’s John Thompson, VP of In‑Building Wireless Solutions, will be moderating a session at the Safer Buildings Coalition 2026 Wireless Tech and Policy Summit on June 9–10 in Washington, DC. The event brings together leaders across public safety, policy, and technology to address the standards and strategies shaping in‑building connectivity.

His session, “First Look Exclusive: A New Training Campus for the Wireless Workforce,” will highlight Learning Alliance Corporation’s new Tampa training complex, designed to address the in‑building wireless talent gap at scale. It represents a shift from continuing to talk about the workforce challenge to actively investing in solutions.

As demand for in‑building wireless grows, workforce development is becoming just as critical as the technology itself.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we take a moment to reflect on those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their courage and sacrifice make our freedoms possible, and their legacy deserves more than a single day of remembrance. As we spend time with family and friends in the days ahead, we carry their memory with gratitude and respect.

We invite you to pause, reflect, and honor those who served and sacrificed. How will you take a moment to remember this weekend?

Partnerships matter, especially when they translate into real results.

MCA is proud to have been named 2026 Partner of the Year for Revenue by Semtech. It’s a strong reflection of what can happen when technology, alignment, and ex*****on come together in the field.

Our Network Infrastructure Solutions team's work with Semtech continues to support connectivity across a range of environments where reliability and performance are not optional.

Recognition like this is meaningful because it reflects how solutions are actually being adopted and used, not just planned. As connectivity needs continue to evolve, it’s clear that strong partner ecosystems are playing a bigger role in how organizations scale and adapt.

Where are partnerships making the biggest difference in your network or connectivity strategy today?

MCA will be in Minneapolis June 1–4 for the Utilities Technology Conference.

Our Network Infrastructure team will be on site discussing how utilities are approaching connectivity across fiber, cellular, and private network environments, including work with our partners at Nokia.

As infrastructure demands grow, utilities are under pressure to balance reliability, scalability, and security across increasingly complex networks. The conversations happening at events like UTC are a good reflection of how quickly those expectations are evolving.

It’s been interesting to see how different organizations prioritize fiber, cellular, or hybrid approaches depending on their operational goals.

Where are you seeing the biggest shift right now in utility network strategy?

Video surveillance is everywhere. The real question is how often it actually changes the outcome of an incident.

Visual alerts add a layer of context that traditional video alone doesn’t provide, flagging what matters in real time so teams aren’t forced to search for the signal during a critical moment. That shift turns video from a review tool into a response tool.

What’s interesting is where organizations draw the line. Some want more automated alerts to reduce cognitive load. Others worry too many alerts create noise and slow response.

Where have you seen visual alerts actually improve response, and where have they created friction?

Seeing an incident is one thing. Knowing what to do next is what matters.

Visual alerts paired with video surveillance help teams move from observation to action faster. By combining real‑time video with automated alerts, organizations can detect issues sooner, assess situations more clearly, and respond with greater confidence.

This approach is becoming increasingly important for public safety and security teams that need timely, accurate information to make better decisions under pressure.

This week at was a great one for the MCA team.

We were glad to be part of the conversation alongside fellow industry experts, participating in a panel, sharing insights, and exchanging perspectives on where wireless and critical communications are headed. We also had the opportunity to present to peers and spend time collaborating with our partners at .

And yes, we filmed a really cool video with Nokia while we were there. More on that soon.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and contribute. Looking forward to continuing the conversations ahead.
