This is my second canister Damascus. The first one was a success,but it cost me a blown out finger trying to peel the can. I did learn from my mistakes. This can is 52100 ball bearings and 1084 powder. It took me less then 5 minutes to peel the can with channel locks. Saying I’m super stoked is an understatement.

It was a battle from the start, until the end. This is my biggest accomplishment in blacksmithing to date. Overall from tip to but is 39” the blade is 1084 steel with a Length of 31 1/2”. The Guard is a low carbon steel, that I brushed with a brass wire brush to get brushed brass finish. The handle is maple burl, with an in lay of six wires twisting together. ( red white blue). The scabbard is red oak with brass accents. Thanks for looking.

Work in progress on this Calvary sword. I quenched it, and tempered. Miles of hand sanding to do still. Then I get to finish the handle. Thanks for looking.
